2048 is a sliding-tile number game on a 4x4 board. You swipe in four directions to move all tiles; when two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into their sum. Every move adds a new tile, and your goal is to create a tile showing 2048.

How to play 2048
- Swipe to move. Swipe up, down, left or right to slide every tile as far as it can go in that direction.
- Merge equal tiles. Two tiles with the same number that collide merge into a single tile of double the value.
- A tile spawns each move. After every move a new 2 or 4 appears on a random empty cell.
- Reach 2048. Keep merging upward — 2, 4, 8, 16 and onward — until you build the 2048 tile.
- Avoid gridlock. The game ends when the board is full and no adjacent tiles can merge.
2048 strategy & tips
- Pick one corner and keep your largest tile there, never swiping it away.
- Build tiles in descending order along one edge to chain merges.
- Avoid swiping in the direction that would move your big tile out of its corner.
